The CNC system is the position control system, which has three basic functions.

1. Input function: refers to the input of parts processing procedures and various parameters.

 

2. Interpolation function: refers to the method of determining some intermediate points between the actual contour or the known points of the track of the processed part. Usually the intermediate point is interpolated between the start point and the end point of a given line or arc. Interpolation methods mainly include pulse increment method and digital increment method. The former is characterized by: each interpolation operation generates a feed pulse. The maximum output pulse rate depends on the time required to perform an interpolation operation. This method is suitable for an open-loop numerical control system driven by a stepper motor. The rate is relatively low. The characteristic of the latter is that the entire control system forms a closed loop through the computer, and the counter periodically samples and feeds back the actual position, compares the sampling result with the command data generated by interpolation, obtains the error signal, and then gives the spindle feed speed command. This method is suitable for position sampling control systems driven by direct and AC servo motors.

 

3. Servo control function: the position feed pulse or feed speed command sent by the grate machine is transformed and amplified into the rotation of a servo motor (stepping or straight, AC motor), thereby driving the machine tool table to move .
