The difference between a vertical lathe and an ordinary lathe is that its main shaft is vertical, which is equivalent to erecting an ordinary lathe upright. Because the worktable is in a horizontal position, it is suitable for processing heavy parts with large diameter and short length. The vertical lathe can process inner and outer cylinders, conical surfaces, end planes, grooves, chamfers, etc., and it is more convenient for workpiece clamping and correction operations.

The CNC vertical lathe utilizes modular quick-positioning fixtures (such as hydraulic chucks, three-jaw self-centering chucks, or four-jaw single-action chucks) for automated clamping via pneumatic/hydraulic actuation. The fixtures offer repeatability of up to ±0.005mm, meeting high-precision machining requirements. For special-shaped disc parts (such as those with flanges, hubs, or gears), the CNC vertical lathe can be configured with specialized modular fixtures based on customer workpiece drawings. Adjustable support blocks and locating pins enable multi-point positioning to prevent workpiece deformation.
Enclosed square box base
The VTC80 CNC vertical lathe bed is cast as a closed box, offering 40% greater torsional rigidity than open structures, effectively resisting deformation caused by cutting forces. The CNC vertical lathe's wall thickness is controlled at 20-30mm, and internal "well"-shaped reinforcement ribs are arranged, resulting in a static rigidity exceeding 500N/μm. When performing heavy-duty cutting (such as milling HRC50 alloy steel), the vibration amplitude of the CNC vertical lathe is reduced to below 0.02mm, and the surface roughness Ra value is stabilized at 0.8μm. The enclosed structure of the CNC machine tool reduces air convection, and the oil cooling system prevents dimensional errors caused by thermal deformation.
High structural rigidity
The VTC80 CNC lathe is constructed from high-strength cast iron, aged to eliminate internal stresses, with a tensile strength of ≥300MPa.
The CNC lathe's spindle bearings utilize Taiwan P4-grade precision angular contact ball bearings with adjustable preload, radial stiffness of 200N/μm, and axial stiffness of 150N/μm.
The vertical CNC lathe can withstand a maximum cutting force of 15kN in the Z direction and 8kN in the X direction, making it suitable for workpieces with roughing allowances of ≥5mm. The main motor power of the CNC machine tool matches the cutting force. For example, a 22kW motor can support powerful turning of a φ800mm workpiece at a speed of 500r/min.
Servo Spindle
The VTC80 CNC vertical lathe's spindle is directly driven by a variable frequency or AC servo motor and equipped with an automatic lubrication system. The CNC lathe's spindle motor speed is adjusted by a frequency converter, achieving stepless speed change and making it suitable for multi-process machining.
The CNC vertical lathe's automatic lubrication system uses a progressive distributor to regularly deliver ISO VG68 lubricant to the spindle bearings and gearbox.
The CNC machine's lubrication system is equipped with an oil level sensor and pressure switch. If the oil level is low or the oil line is blocked, the machine will automatically shut down and issue an alarm to prevent bearing burns.
